The PCS Remodeling Process
At PCS Contracting, we believe a smoother remodel starts with clear expectations. Our process is designed to help homeowners understand what happens, when it happens, and how we guide the project from the first conversation to the final walkthrough.
Step 1.
Initial Conversation
Every project starts with a conversation about your goals, your space, and what you are hoping to accomplish.
We use this step to understand:
- what you want to change
- how you use the space
- what concerns or frustrations you currently have
- what budget range feels realistic for your project
This helps us determine whether the project is a good fit and what direction makes the most sense.
Step 2.
Site Visit & Project Review
Next, we meet with you to look at the space in person, talk through the details, and better understand the scope of work.
During this stage, we may review:
- layout and functionality
- existing conditions
- materials and finish ideas
- access, logistics, and project complexity
- whether design, planning, or additional preconstruction steps are needed
Step 3.
Estimate & Scope Alignment
Once we understand the project, we prepare an estimate based on the scope discussed.
This step helps clarify:
- what is included
- what may affect budget
- what level of finish or investment makes sense
- whether revisions are needed before moving forward
Our goal is to be clear and realistic, not vague or overly optimistic.
Step 4.
Selections, Planning & Preconstruction
Before work begins, we help make sure the project is properly prepared.
This may include:
- confirming materials and finishes
- verifying measurements
- discussing product lead times
- coordinating any needed planning or design support
- preparing for scheduling and start of work
A strong planning phase helps reduce delays and surprises later.
Step 5.
Ordering & Scheduling
Once the project is ready to move forward, we coordinate materials, scheduling, and timeline expectations.
This step may involve:
- ordering products and fixtures
- confirming installation timing
- identifying key milestones
- preparing for crew access and worksite setup
We aim to create as much clarity as possible before work begins.
Step 6.
Demo & Jobsite Preparation
Construction usually starts with demolition and prep work.
This is often the messiest phase of the remodel and may include:
- removal of old materials
- preparation of surfaces and work areas
- protection of nearby spaces
- uncovering any hidden issues that need to be addressed
We communicate clearly if anything unexpected is discovered.
Step 7.
Build Phase
This is where the new space starts to come together.
Depending on the project, this phase may include:
- framing or structural adjustments
- plumbing and electrical work
- drywall, paint, tile, and flooring
- installation of cabinets, fixtures, trim, and finishes
Some days bring visible progress. Other days are focused on behind-the-scenes work that is just as important
Step 8.
Final Walkthrough & Project Completion
As the project wraps up, we review the finished work and focus on any final details.
This phase includes:
- final walkthrough
- touch-ups or punch list items
- confirming the scope is complete
- making sure the space is ready for use
Our goal is not just to finish the project, but to finish it well
